NL Scholarship for Non-EEA Students in the Netherlands

← Go Back

International students from outside the EEA (European Economic Area) interested in pursuing either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the Netherlands are eligible for the NL Scholarship (formerly the Holland Scholarship). You will receive a €5,000 grant in the first academic year of your study. It is important to note that this scholarship doesn’t pay your complete tuition costs.

Both the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and a number of Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences finance the scholarship. Because every institution has its own rules for how to apply, you should always read the requirements for the institution you want to attend.

Eligibility Criteria:

You have to be a citizen of a country that isn’t part of the European Economic Area.

You are setting out to study for a bachelor’s or master’s degree at one of the described Dutch colleges.

You meet the exact criteria needed by the university or college you have chosen.

Your education has not come from a Dutch educational institution.

Application Process:

Look on the website of the college if you want to learn the deadlines and requirements for applying.

Send your application for the scholarship together with the application for admission to the school.
